Archaeology Exhibitions 20th and 21st March 2026
As part of the works for Vanguard West, East and Boreas Offshore Wind Farms, a programme of archaeological investigations was carried out along the onshore cable route.
Published: 6 March 2026
These investigations are a standard and important part of the planning and construction process, ensuring that Norfolk’s rich heritage is carefully identified, understood and properly recorded.
The work uncovered a wide range of archaeological remains along the 60+ kilometre onshore cable route, reflecting different periods of Norfolk’s history. These discoveries include settlement features, field systems and artefacts from various eras, as well as evidence of a Roman villa estate with bath house. In partnership with our archaeological specialists, we are keen to share this broader story with local communities and provide an opportunity for residents to learn more about the investigations and the discoveries.
